A Daily Reminder

The Lord has placed special gifts and talents within each of us and has given every believer the promise that they can accomplish great things throughout their life. We are to recognize how special we are and know that in each of us is instilled an unfulfilled destiny that is waiting to take shape and accomplish that which God Almighty has intended. If you are feeling discouraged because you think you have nothing special to offer this world, be encouraged and know that God has great things instilled within your spirit that has yet to be realized and accomplished. Recognize that you are special and have many gifts within you that need to get out of your heart and into this world where you can make a positive impact on humanity.

For I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

The Ballet, The Concert and The Play

I’ve always dreamt of going to see The Nutcracker Ballet and on Wednesday we did just that with our homeschool co-op.  It was so beautiful even though it was only the 2nd Act of the play.  The costumes were all hand-sewn by one young lady and they were amazingly beautiful!  The music was, at times suspenseful and at other times was delightful…who wouldn’t recognize the music, The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy?  I was truly blessed and at many times during the performance had to fight tears for the sheer joy of being there.  The dancers ranged in age from 4-40 and the youngest was dressed as a little mouse, she was just the cutest thing!  The dancers were all so gorgeous in their costumes and tutu’s.  Even the men dancers looked handsome!  There were lots of schools there and one young boy behind us, around 10-12 yrs was happy to be there, he clapped and had such a look of awe on his face.  I kept thinking it’s a shame he’s not homeschooled and his parents could share that joy with him.

Saturday, Dec. 8th, my husband and I surprised our daughter by taking her to a concert by Danya Powell and Misty Rae.  These are two phenomenal young women who use their voices to praise and uplift God’s name!  My daughter’s volleyball team played in three Tournament Games on Friday and again on Saturday about 100 miles from where the concert was being held, so I decided to try and work our schedule out so that we could make the concert and have that as part of her Christmas present for this year.  Boy, was she surprised!!!  I love it when my daughter’s face glows with curiosity and her love of Jesus Christ!  Needless to say, the concert was such a blessing and the Spirit of the Lord was in that place for sure.  The girls performed wonderfully and their new band member played nicely as well.  I remember Danya asking who knew the words to one particular song and my daughter’s hand went up in the air, little did she know, that she was about to sing with Danya on stage.  My daughter is pretty timid about being in front of more than just a handful of people but she did very well and I, of course am very proud of her!  There are pictures on Kelsey’s blog if you’d like to see them.  We spent lots of time on the road this weekend and were very grateful to finally arrive home on Sunday afternoon.  On Monday afternoon, I found out that I’d won a year’s subscription for Victoria magazine through Tiany’s Holiday Open House.   Thank you Tiany!  On Tuesday, this week we saw The Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas Play at the Children’s Theatre in Lexington and it was very cool to watch this play unfold.  I loved it very much and am counting my blessings for being able to attend these shows.
