A Daily Reminder

The Lord has placed special gifts and talents within each of us and has given every believer the promise that they can accomplish great things throughout their life. We are to recognize how special we are and know that in each of us is instilled an unfulfilled destiny that is waiting to take shape and accomplish that which God Almighty has intended. If you are feeling discouraged because you think you have nothing special to offer this world, be encouraged and know that God has great things instilled within your spirit that has yet to be realized and accomplished. Recognize that you are special and have many gifts within you that need to get out of your heart and into this world where you can make a positive impact on humanity.

For I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Saturday Psalm and Praise

Hello and I hope you’re all having a good week!  Today I got my first secret sister surprise and I am very happy to have received it.  My SP&P is actually about the song that is on the bookmark, pictured in the post below, Softly and Tenderly.  This song was written by Will. L Thompson in 1847-1909.  Thompson’s ambition was to write music for the people.  After years of success writing gospel hymns.  Later he opened his own music store and became a thriving music publisher in Chicago.  Though quite affluent due to his great success in the music world, he was known as a kind, unpretentious Christian gentleman.  He was also known for travelling from one small town to another in horse and buggy singing his songs for appreciative audiences.  Thompson was a close personal friend of renowned D. L. Moody.  On Moody’s deathbed, he whispered, “Will, I would rather have written Softly and Tenderly than anything I have been able to do in my whole life.”

Softly and Tenderly
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me; see, on the portals he's waiting and watching, watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home; ye who are weary come home; earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tary when Jesus is pleading, pleading for you and for me? Why should we linger and heed not his mercies, mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing, passing from you and from me; shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming, coming for you and for me.

O for the wonderful love he has promised, promised for you and for me! Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon, pardon for you and for me.

Have a blessed day!
