A Daily Reminder

The Lord has placed special gifts and talents within each of us and has given every believer the promise that they can accomplish great things throughout their life. We are to recognize how special we are and know that in each of us is instilled an unfulfilled destiny that is waiting to take shape and accomplish that which God Almighty has intended. If you are feeling discouraged because you think you have nothing special to offer this world, be encouraged and know that God has great things instilled within your spirit that has yet to be realized and accomplished. Recognize that you are special and have many gifts within you that need to get out of your heart and into this world where you can make a positive impact on humanity.

For I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Cleaning, Illness and Surprises

In the Nook…

Wow!  What a week!  I feel like I started the new year off right this time.  I’ve had the most uncommon urge to clean, all week long, maybe it will last for a lot longer!  Actually, we’ve had several cleaning things going on the past two weeks.  Our daughter’s room is typically upstairs but she’s gotten very used to being downstairs next to our room, so instead of all the running up and down with clothes and needed daily items, we told her she had to decided which room she was going to stay in.  It seems strange to me that she’d want the downstairs room, a guest room that’s about 180 sq. ft. as opposed to the 600 sq. ft. that she had upstairs and all the privacy to boot!  I’m happy that she wants to be closer to us and I actually feel safer having her down here because the hand-railing on the stairs is not safe and one side is missing.  We spent a whole day just moving her heavy furniture, we didn’t have to move the bed, down here and then all her clothes got a good “going through” for donations and such for what she could no longer wear.  Our pastor’s daughter has given her tons of clothes over the past year and we are extremely grateful for those.  I can’t count how many bags of clothes I went through and the old toys that she hasn’t played with for the three years we’ve been with….oh my word!!!  My husband and I surprised her the next morning by putting all her clothes away in her dressers while she was out taking her morning walk and spending time at the neighbor’s house.  We have one bag of clothes that we’re giving to one of her friends on the volleyball team and if they don’t fit they have our blessings in passing them on to another young girl.  Kelsey still has two large bags of clothes that we don’t have storage for, so we need to get another dresser of some sort.  I’d actually love to find an old one for dirt cheap and re-stain or re-paint for her.  There’s so much peace in knowing that my lovely daughter is just 10 steps away from our bedroom door, instead of worrying that she might fall down the stairs one night because of the handrail ordeal.

All that cleaning in her room got me on a roll with cleaning everything and I’ve been going around like the energizer bunny for most of the week just cleaning every room and scrubbing the washer and refrigerator around the gaskets on the doors…it saves on energy to have clean appliances.  Then I decided to bleach things, sinks, counters, all my white clothes (I only bleach those once a month or so), shoes of my daughters, and some of my white walls needed it also.  My husband has been busy upstairs with checking and tacking down any loose insulation or plastic that will later be permanently repaired/covered. He’s also been sick this past two days and I have to use tough love to make him slow down and rest.  We’ve been making sure to carry in extra wood so he doesn’t get worried that there’s not enough.  I think he has bronchitis because it’s just a bad cough, no sinus congestion or runny nose (thank God) but just this cough, so I have made him rest a lot more!

For some reason, unknown to me, I’ve gotten two Sew Beautiful  (by Martha Pullen) magazines in the past two days.  I’m just so baffled over this, though pleasantly surprised by it too.  These magazines have beautiful patterns in them including free patterns in the middle of each of them.  I called the company today to find out why I’ve been getting them and they said someone had prepaid for them for a year.  I’m wondering, even now, how I’m getting them because I KNOW that I did not order them and the only thing I can come up with is maybe it’s part of the 25 free gifts that came with my TOS subscription.  I don’t know but if anyone out there sent them to me then Thank You very much because they are lovely and I do cherish each copy.  I will probably be making some of the dresses in them for myself, my daughter, and my granddaughters.  Next to the GHC heavenly inspirations, which is NO comparison, they’re very pretty magazines!  I do love them and adore the handiwork of the women that make the designs in them.  Well, this is getting very long but I want to mention that I am doing my SP&P in another day or two…I have quite a few studies running around in my mind that I want to explore further and then I will post them.  Until then…

Have a blessed day in the Lord~
