This week’s assignment was to share how you relax. I should know because I gave the assignment this week…I’ve had a hard time getting my own assignment done. It wasn’t hard by any stretch, I was just busy and very tired. So, here it is…how I relax. Usually I sit on the swing with my cup of coffee and sometimes a notebook for writing. Yes, I like to sit outside even if it’s cold outside. I like to think of winter as God’s watering time…snow melts and waters the earth! The fall and winter seasons are my favorite time of the year. There is much more work involved for us during these seasons we because we burn wood for heat and we spent literally months getting wood gathered for the whole season, or we try I should say. Then there’s the chore of lugging it in every few days or if it is wet outside we bring lots of it in everyday to make sure it stays dry. We also use a tarp to cover it but sometimes the winds blow that off. How else do I relax? I love to make my mother’s recipe for hot cocoa and I also love hot flavored teas. I like more hot drinks than I do cold. I especially love to drink just plain water, even if it’s warm. I usually am curled up with a cat or dog near me or at my feet.
In order they are Sylvie she’s a Burmese and mom to Misty in the next picture, Shaggy the Schaunzer, and Scooby the Pomeranian. I just have to share the next two kitties we have too.
So that’s how I relax! With an animal and something hot to drink. My verse is the memory verse for this week. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Wow, sounds like it you have some critters there! They do make cheap and fun bodywarmers! When our cat decides to grace us with her presence, and IF she chooses to snuggle (we didn’t name her Cleopatra for nothing-this is one ornery cat), it does warm ya up right fast. The cocoa sounds delish too. Blessings-
That is so funny, we have two dogs named after scooby-doo characters also. We have two Malteses named Scooby and Daphne!

Hi, Nancy! Your four-footeds are adorable! I’m a cat person myself, but I haven’t really “connected” with the Mexican cats. They’re all too recently wild to have developed that decidedly lovable, regal “spoiled” air that I loved about my American kitties. Sigh.
Anyway, I drink hot drinks in whatever weather — hot or cold. Folks here believe that if you drink a hot drink on a hot day, it helps your body fight heat exhaustion. There are a LOT of old wives’ tales here that I’d never heard before. Some are crazy, some downright dangerous, but some of them actually make sense!
Anyway, greatly enjoyed your post! Great assignment!!!
Nancy — I have a blog design question that I can’t find the answer to. Would you send me an email so I can pick your brain?
Thanks so much!!!
