Blessings from my Birthday

In the Nook…
I was so excited to have another birthday last Saturday the 21st..  To me that’s God’s way of saying that he could use me for longer on this Earth.  It was probably the best birthday I’ve had since I was just beyond my teen years.  Last Thursday I was expecting a Math book to be in the mail or brought by UPS when I saw a  truck in the yard.  It was actually a FedEx truck and the driver pulled out a very large box and we were all amazed, what I giant Math book; well, then the driver said, “oh, here’s another one”. and it was even larger than the first one.  Well, they both had my name on them and I thought for sure he’d brought them to the wrong person, but the address was right.  They turned out to be from my sister Dee, she had my birthday present sent to me.  I’ve never been so blessed with gifts on my birthday before, not since I was 18 or 20 years old.  I added some pictures to this post so I could share my joy with everyone and my Aunt Sarah in Australia.

My sister Dee gave me these stainless steel pots and pans (5 pictures); dish towels and  dish cloths are also in the same set as the other items. 

                   This is a stock pot and a roaster; this set also came with measuring spoons, cups, and utensils – plastic and stainless steel – and mixing bowls that are stainless steel.

There are 2 of these canisters but only one in the picture.

This is the roaster again and a double boiler/steamer!

Smaller size pot – putting it to good use for our dinner~My best friend Carol gave me an electric indoor grill — George Foreman type, but a Sunbeam brand and she made me my favorite cake, Carrot Cake from scratch, it was humongous!  I also got The Passion of the Christ movie.

My husband and daughter got me all these watercolor brushes, paints and watercolor pencils.  I got the watercolor pad and a sketchpad from them too.  Lots of sharpie markers and regular colored pencils.  I love doing calligraphy and coloring it.  I am working on making my own set of fonts.

This picture amazed me!  My brother -in-law drew it for me on my birthday and then we colored it in with watercolor pencils.  If I hadn’t watched him do it then I wouldn’t have believed he drew this.   Isn’t it beautiful.  It’s actually only part of the picture.   He also drew ivy vines around the outside of the page and wrote a poem over the rose about his brother and I and our marriage.

These are all my many blessings and I have never before been so surprised to get this many things for one birthday… I don’t think I’ve gotten this many things for one birthday in all my life.  I thank God everyday for what I have, for I do remember a time when we had nothing but Faith and Love to live on.
