In the Nook…
I just have to say, my daughter is wonderful and I am very blessed to have her as a gift from God!! Today at church was Youth Sunday and all the youth (3 young ladies) did all the things in the service that our normal church people would do. We had a special speaker and a personal testimony from a young man that is getting ready to leave for Afghanistan. The service went kind of like this:
Praise
Announcements by the youngest youth member
Kelsey read the verses of scripture to the church (2 Corinthians 4: 16,17)
Pass the peace (where everyone shakes hands and gives hugs to each other)
Praise and Offering
Doxology
I did a report on the Youth and announced that the two girls that went to the Girl of Worth Conference wanted to share some of their experiences with the church members. Kelsey and Rachael, my daughter and her best friend, talked about the Girl of Worth Conference and the things they had learned about Modesty and True Friendships.
We had a short devotion done by the Guest Speaker and the Testimony from the Young Gentleman who is getting ready to leave for Afghanistan.
Final song of Praise and Invitational time for anyone to come and pray at the altar.
It was truly wonderful and a very blessed occasion. I think we’ll be doing this more often. We do have some plans for a special Christmas program that we’ll be getting to work on in the next few weeks. Thank you for letting me share my joy with you. Our plans for this weekend got canceled because of the Youth Sunday, that I double-booked, and the cooler weather forced us to have to cut wood for some heat and get the wood stove set up. God had a reason for us not going anywhere this weekend!
