A Daily Reminder The Lord has placed special gifts and talents within each of us and has
given every believer the promise that they can accomplish great things
throughout their life. We are to recognize how special we are and know
that in each of us is instilled an unfulfilled destiny that is waiting to
take shape and accomplish that which God Almighty has intended. If you are
feeling discouraged because you think you have nothing special to offer
this world, be encouraged and know that God has great things instilled
within your spirit that has yet to be realized and accomplished. Recognize
that you are special and have many gifts within you that need to get out of
your heart and into this world where you can make a positive impact on humanity.
For I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.(Jeremiah 29:11-13)
And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Living and Learning I think she was afraid to love sometimes. I think it scared her. She was the type to like things that were concrete, like the ocean. Something you could point to and know what it is. I think that’s why she always struggled with God. And I think that’s why she also struggled [...]
Living and Learning I’ve heard the quote said, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, and I always thought I knew what it meant, everyone else can see the beauty of a person, in particular, outer beauty. I never talked too much about inner beauty.
Beauty isn’t just in the eye of the beholder; sometimes it gets [...]
Living and Learning This is a story that I had tucked away in some old files for a few years and wanted to share it:
It all depends on the way you look at things. One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show [...]
Living and Learning Abstinence without purity is a challenge to achieve, since purity in itself promotes abstinence in a healthy and purposeful way. Abstinence – abstaining from sex as the media calls it – in itself is challenging, especially in today’s society. The media tells us abstinence is hard to achieve and that we are weak minded [...]
Living and Learning First I wanted to share this Scripture:
1 Corinthians 13: 1 I may speak in the tongues of men, even angels; but if I lack love, I have become merely blaring brass or a cymbal clanging.
2 I may have the gift of prophecy, I may fathom all mysteries, know all things, have all [...]
Living and Learning Disclaimer- I don’t necessarily agree with this author’s chosen lifestyle but I do love this poem she wrote.
Yesterday I Cried
I came home, went straight to my room, sat on the edge of my bed, kicked off my shoes, took off my coat, and I had myself a good cry.
I’m telling you, I [...]
Living and Learning When God Closes a Door…
I feel lately like I’ve been doing many hard things. A lot of emotional stuff going on in my life has really brought on some sleepless nights and worrisome days. At the same time a lot of great and exciting things have been going on too. I’ve prayed for a [...]
Living and Learning I am from far and distant shores of giant oceans, balmy winds, and hot summer nights, from Little Women, Charlottes Web, Hans Christen Andersen, and The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe story books and The Blue Angels Aerobatic Team practicing overhead and the sonic booms caused by the Military planes flying past.
I am from [...]
Living and Learning My first choice, of course, would be my mother but she’s no longer living. My second choice, not blood related, is my best friend Carol. I bought her a card over the summer when she was going through an extremely hard time with her health. I wanted to share the poem inside of it with [...]
Living and Learning An elderly blind man sat at the edge of a plaza with a tin can at his feet and next to it, a sign that read: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in the can.
A man was walking by. He stood and looked at the old man debating [...]
Living and Learning According to the world’s standards, whenever you give something away, you have less of it. Keep giving, according to such standards, and you run the risk of running out completely. But that’s really not the way things work.
Take love, for instance. If you were this moment to tell someone you love and support them, [...]
Living and Learning I was so close to shutting down my internet life completely this week. I know a few people who would be happy to hear that news! Sorry, it’s not going to happen. Nothing bad has happened or anything. I was just so frustrated with trying to juggle things going on in our lives. First and [...]
Living and Learning Once we step onto the path to Christianity, most of us expect our new life to come rushing to us in one outstanding experience. We tend to think in windfall terms, of suddenly being immersed in an avalanche of abundance.
So does it happen that way? Sometimes yes, but not usually. And for a very [...]
Living and Learning In the early thirties, during the Great Depression, an out-of-work salesman named Charles Darrow found money in short supply, jobs non-existent and his family in need. Like countless others, Darrow had every reason to be worried and no one would have blamed him.
But realizing that worry helped nothing, Charles and his wife, Ester, resisted [...]
